How we check listings

Every company on Florida Pest Control Guru starts from the state's own record. The last check finished on 2026-10-17.

  1. The license file. We start from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) pest control business license file: 5608 records. We keep active licenses for household pest, termite or fumigation work and leave out expired and cancelled licenses, test records, lawn and ornamental only licenses and in house crews at resorts and institutions.
  2. The map listing. A Google listing is matched to a license only when the phone number, or the ZIP code and street number, or the ZIP code and a close name, agree. Weak matches stay unmatched, so a rating or website is never borrowed from a different company.
  3. The website. We read each company's own website: the homepage and the pages about its services, plans, prices, service area and guarantee.
  4. Every claim needs a quote. A detail is kept only when the sentence behind it is on one of the pages we read. 1761 claims failed that test and were dropped. Prices are worked out in code: a per visit price becomes a yearly price only when the site says how often the company comes.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell positions. Order is set by how complete a listing is, how it is rated and how far away it is.
  • We don't publish an accusation. If a website seems to advertise work its license category doesn't cover, we keep that company off the matching page and check the FDACS record; it isn't shown on the listing.
  • We don't guess. When a company's website doesn't say something, the listing says so in one line instead of filling it in.
